| DATASYS launches new industry forum for Controllers |
DATASYS are delighted with the response from the industry to their first DATASYS LOG Conference which took place in Manchester on the 10th and 11th February 2009.
The DATASYS LOG Conference was attended by 25 delegates representing 13 different Train and Freight Operating Companies plus other key industry stakeholders. The conference aimed to facilitate the adoption of best practice of working in Control. Through a series of workshops held over the 2 days, delegates were able to share views and learn from each other's experiences and initiatives. The delegates, who were a mixed group of users and non users of the DATASYS LOG, were also given an update regarding plans for the development of DATASYS LOG including future integration with other widely used Control systems. DATASYS also welcomed industry speakers: Derrick Kingdom, Performance Delivery Manager from Southern, who provided an insightful overview about the Sussex Route Control Centre and the "Critical Factors for a successful control" and Mike Hoptroff, Control Systems Manager from Virgin Trains, who provided an overview of how Virgin Trains have approached their Control re-organisation for the VHF timetable. The feedback from the delegates was unanimous "Great forum to meet other controllers, the speakers were very relevant and interesting, good to meet other users of DATASYS LOG and we have come away with a lot of new information. We will definitely be coming back in 12 months time to see how things have progressed." DATASYS would like to thank our industry speakers for their invaluable contribution and all the delegates without whose participation the event would not have been the success it was.
